Bettie Peele Priest, 81, of Bear Grass Road, Williamston, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at her home.
She was born in Martin County on May 11, 1927, to the late James Arthur and Martha Taylor Peele and was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Bunting. Mrs. Peele was a member of Reboboth Pentecostal Holiness Church and a homemaker.
The Rev. David Kent will hold graveside funeral services on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Martin Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m.
Survivors include her husband, Marion M. Priest of Williamston; daughters, Sandra Haislip of Texas and Karen Speller of Williamston; sisters, Ellen and husband Kenneth, and Melba Hannah of Williamston, Judy and husband Donald Corey of Washington; brothers, Gene and wife Gloria Peele of Williamston and Donnie and wife Betty Jean Peele of Richmond, Va.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
