Mrs. Betty Jo Mills Hines, 53, a resident of 246 Hoff Road, Belhaven, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Hillside Funeral Service with Rev. David Langley and Rev. Charlie Clark officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the memorial service hour at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 East, Washington and other times at the home.
Mrs. Hines was born December 31, 1954 in Pitt County. She was the daughter of Cornelia Randolph Mills and the late Elbert Harold Mills. On January 19, 1974, she married Jerry Morgan Hines, who survives. Betty Jo was a graduate in the class of 1973 at D.H. Conley High School. She retired as a machine operator with DuPont of Kinston in 1993 due to her health. She was a former member of Winterville Free Will Baptist Church and was a member of Sidney Free Will Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Beaufort County since 1994.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Morgan Hines; her mother, Cornelia Randolph Mills of Greenville; three sisters, Deborah Mills Doggett and her husband, Norman of Maryland, Connie Mills of Greenville, and Robin Mills Dana and her husband, Brian of Washington; four nieces, Ashley Morgan Hines of Winterville, Regan Dana and Bailey Dana, both of Washington, and Latashia G. Haddock of Greenville; five nephews, Christopher William Hines, Robert Todd Pennington, and Jarod Brett Pennington, all of Winterville, Michael Doggett of Maryland, and Nicholas Dana of Washington; her mother-in-law, Annie Bruce Hines; her brother-in-law, Jimmy D. Hines and his wife, Amy; and her sister-in-law, JoAnn H. Pennington and her husband, Bobby, all of Winterville.
