Mr. Eugene Miller Mizelle, 79, of 305 New Road, Colerain, died Monday, July 14, 2008, at Bertie Memorial Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Elm Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Preston Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor.
Mr. Mizelle was born in Bertie County on Jan. 2, 1929. He was the son of the late Gurney and Bertie Miller Mizelle. He was married to Inetta Mizelle, who preceded him in death in 2005. He was retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation. He was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Mizelle and Ronnie Mizelle, both of Colerain; one sister, Mary Lynn M. Hoggard of Colerain; one brother, Alton Mizelle of Ahoskie and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, and other times at the home.
Memorial gifts may be made to Elm Grove Baptist Church Building Fund or the Askewville Fire Department.
