ZEBULON — Herman Troy Jones, 85, of 115 W. Franklin St., died Friday at Wake Med. He was born in Franklin County, son of the late, Fannie Alford and Robert Troy Jones. He was a Rural Letter Carrier with 36 years of service and a US Army veteran.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Social Plains Baptist Church. Burial in the church cemetery with military honors.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rebecca W. Jones; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Robert Cayton of Aurora, Fannie and Tom Dillard of Concord, Patsy and Johnny Lambert of Middlesex; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley Jones and Mary Bare of Chapel Hill; brothers, Milton and Lorraine Jones, Charles Jones and Bobbie all of Bunn; grandchildren, Daniel and Rachel Dillard, Grace and John Lambert, Kala and Holly Spicer.
