Mr. Billy Ray Fornes, age 54, a resident of 3180 Clairemont Road, Atlanta, Ga. died Wednesday July 16, 2008 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday July 21, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Pastor Wayne Flora. The service may be viewed live by visiting www.paulfuneralhome.com.
Mr. Fornes was born in Beaufort County on April 13, 1954, son of the late Guy Cletus Fornes and the late Lena Frances Dixon Fornes. He was a graduate of Chocowinity High School and North Carolina State University. He worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Food and Nutrition Division as a financial specialist in Atlanta. Mr. Fornes married the former Li Meng Yi in March 2007 in China, who survives. Mr. Fornes was a member of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
Surviving along with his wife Meng Yi Fornes of China are three sisters: Louise Carawan and her husband Roger of Washington, Dixie McLawhorn and her husband Lonnie of the Clay Root Community of Ayden and Mary Fornes Holmquist of Holly Ridge. Mr. Fornes was preceded in death by a brother, Heber Lee Fornes.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday July 20, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
