Bible-study classes offered

Washington Bible Study will offer several classes this fall, beginning Sept. 14.
People across Beaufort County and surrounding communities participate, representing a variety of churches and denominations. All Wednesday morning classes begin at 9:15 at First Presbyterian Church, 211 W. Second St., Washington.
The Wednesday classes include the following:
- “The Shelter of God’s Promises” by Shelia Walsh. God is the only promise-maker who is always a promise-keeper, and God’s promises will never fail you. Participants will search scripture for what God has promised, what God’s promises mean and how encounters with Christ are the eternal fulfillment of His unrelenting commitment to us.
- “How Do You Walk the Walk You Talk?” A study of Ephesians based on a book by Kay Arthur. Does your life effectively show the difference genuine faith makes in a person’s life? As you learn what God says about the walk of a true believer, you’ll be challenged to develop a life marked by maturity, Christlikeness and peace — a life in which your walk matches your talk.
- A Thursday morning class — “How Did We Get the Bible?” — will be offered at Chocowinity United Methodist Church. This class will study the writing and collecting of the books of the Bible, along with a brief survey. Participants will study the Bible’s translation into English and the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The classes are open to the public. For more information about the classes and/or registration, contact Bev Walker at 945-8683 or billbev123@suddenlink.net.
