The Tideland Electric Membership Corp.’s system experienced widespread destruction Aug. 26-27. Tideland is working to restore service to all Tideland members.

Tideland records indicate that power should be restored to its members unless their service was deemed unsafe by a county building inspector. Any Tideland member who does not have power should call the Tideland office immediately at 1-800-637-1079 or 252-943-3046. Tell the service representative if there is a power line down or other noticeable damage.

Any Tideland member denied electric service because of an inspection department recommendation should ask the building inspections department to contact Tideland once the meter is approved for service.

Tideland members who have damage to security lights, wait until Thursday to request these repairs.
