You see who is creating jobs and making people buy things — the good Lord.
You people no longer publish a Monday paper. When you deliver them, you throw them in the trash and in the ditch. I have a paper box for the paper, but they can’t put it in there. I am tired of it.
Pitt County property values are going down. We have revaluation of Beaufort County properties, and we went up during a recession. It is hard to understand how Pitt County’s can go down while Beaufort County’s are going up.
Belhaven needs to start spraying for mosquitoes, morning and night. They are awful.
To the person who said that Smallwood was getting limbs picked up: I live in Smallwood, and my limbs are still down there, and it is Tuesday at 10 p.m. So, we are not getting preferential treatment.

And so it continues: The attempt to ban any feeding of a few downtown community cats. A police car drives to a person’s home and then calls for a back-up officer. Surely, this is not a priority over other issues and calls for police help.
Today, I rode down Main Street. As I was stopped at the stoplight at Bridge and Main, my heart filled with pride. Looking down Main Street and seeing all those beautiful, crisp American flags blowing in the breeze; it was a perfect picture for Southern Living. If I were a tourist, I would have had a warm, fuzzy feeling. Good job.
Apparently someone downtown does not realize that Smallwood is in the city. Either that or I have been paying too much in property taxes all these years.
