Martha Virginia Cutler Bass, 81, of New Bern, died August 17, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church for 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lillian Cutler; one brother, Leonard Otis Cutler and her sister, Lola Moore. She is survived by her husband, Merrell Bass; three daughters, Cynthia Scott and Martha Brinson, both of New Bern; Lynne Shirley of Beaufort, S.C.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several loving nieces.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Cotten Chapel with Dr. Steve Cobb and Rev. Joe Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 tonight at Cotten Funeral Home.
