Mrs. Eleanor Barber-Edwards, age 76, a resident of 525 Weston Road, Grimesland, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at W.E. Flanagan Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery, Vanceboro.

Eleanor was born in Craven County and retired from Prince George Hospital, Maryland.

She is survived by daughters, Mary G. Edwards of Greenville, N.C., and Norma Laws of Washington, N.C.; brothers, Redmond Barber of Temple Hills, Md., and Charles Barber of Washington, D.C., two sisters, Ms. Christine Barber of Grimesland, N.C., and Mrs. Sarah Barber-Blount of Aurora, N.C., six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
