Mrs. Mattie Bell Lucas Sadler, 95, a resident of Cross Creek Health Care, Swan Quarter, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008.
A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Lydia Missionary Baptist Church, Swan Quarter, with the Rev. Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Swan Quarter.
Mrs. Sadler was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Hyde County. She was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Sadler Lucas and James Willis Lucas. She attended the Hyde County public schools and was a seafood technician with Jarvis Crab house. She was a lifelong member of St. Lydia Missionary Baptist Church.
She was married to Milton Sadler, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Wilton Sadler of New York City; two sisters, Willie Mae Brown of Washington and Robena Lucas of Swan Quarter; one brother, Dalis Lucas of Greenville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her nephew, James Blount, and Wanda Blount, 658 Gullrock Road, Engelhard.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
