FAYE TAYLOR MODLIN, 75, of 2121 Poplar Chapel Road, Jamesville, died Sunday, October 5, 2008 in Beaufort County Hospital. She was born on December 28, 1932 in Martin County to the late Samuel and Allie Hardy Taylor. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jamie Modlin; brothers, Asa Tom Taylor, Theodore “Dock” Taylor, Leslie C. Taylor; sisters, Lou Allie Peele and Dale Proseus. Mrs. Modlin was a owner/operator of Faye’s Beauty Shop for over twenty years and a member of Poplar Chapel Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Poplar Chapel Church of Christ in Jamesville with Pastor Elbert Lilley and Pastor Ernie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2008 in the Poplar Chapel Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, Jamesville, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jamesville EMS and Rescue, P.O. Box 17, Jamesville, NC 27846
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James “Buster” Modlin, her sons, Rodney and wife, Mary; and Timmie Modlin, all of Jamesville; two brothers, Jessie “Jack” Taylor, and wife, Sylvia, Sammie S. Taylor and wife, Pat; three sisters, Annie Jean Goddard, Betty Jean Alexander, and Jenie Taylor, and husband, Jimmy, all of Williamston. Two grandchildren, Ashley Modlin and Paige Modlin of Jamesville and two great grandchildren, Amber Modlin and Bryan Modlin of Elizabeth City.
