Mrs. Eugenia Passailaigue Gibbs, 81, a resident of 222 Village Circle, Washington, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Britthaven of Washington.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Oakdale Cemetery with Mike Huppmann officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington and other times at the home of her daughter, Fran Brundage, 726 West 2nd Street, Washington.
Mrs. Gibbs was born March 28, 1927 in Sumter, SC, but spent most of her younger life in Charleston, SC. She was the daughter of the late Carrie Rose Passailaigue and John Louis Passailaigue. She was a retired admitting clerk at various hospitals around the country. She was also associated with the Beaufort County Economic Resources Commission, Pamlico Animal Hospital and Options to Domestic Violence.
She is survived by her daughters, Fran Rumley Brundage and husband, Jeff of Washington, NC, and Dorothy B. Stein and husband, Howard of Oakland, CA; her sister, Dorothy Miller of Charleston, SC; her grandsons, Dr. Jeff Rumley, Lee Rumley and wife, Victoria, Gary Rumley and fianc/, Laurel Bone, and granddaughter Pasha Durant; great-grandchildren, Davis Lane Rumley, Will Rumley and Isabella Rumley; niece, Susan Martin of Charleston, SC; nephew, Michael Miller of Huntington Beach, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Rev. Louis Passailaigue and Francis S. Passailaigue.
