Robert Cuthrell Bridgeman

Robert Cuthrell Bridgeman, age 70, a resident of 1080 CBH Lodge Road, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at University Health Systems-Beaufort Hospital in Washington. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by pastor Stephen Evans. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at Washington Assembly of God in Washington and other times at the home of his son Gentry located at 3210 U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington.
Mr. Bridgeman was born in Beaufort County on April 26, 1941, the son of the late Jay Roe Bridgeman and Olive Whitley Bridgeman. He graduated from Washington High School. Robert was married on Feb. 15, 1969, to Mary Pinkham who survives. Mr. Bridgeman worked with National Spinning until his retirement after 37 years of service. He had a great love for gardening and raising his many different farm animals. Robert was known for his devotion to his family and especially enjoyed his time with his grandchildren.
Surviving with his wife Mary are three daughters, Donna Jo King and husband Walter of Chocowinity, Connie Leigh Bridgeman of Washington, Cassandra Mary Sanchez and husband Diovino; one son, Gentry Keith Bridgeman and wife Tommi Adams Bridgeman of Washington; one brother Kenneth J. Bridgeman of Washington; a sister Geraldine Warren of Washington; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers Maurice and Jasper Bridgeman and a sister Judy Bunn.
