Agnes Andela Kuiken, 85, of 5297 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, NC died Thursday, November 6, 2008 in her home.
Mrs. Kuiken was born in Passaic County, NJ and was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Jesse Hamersma Andela. A homemaker, she was a member of Covenant United Reformed Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H “Bill” Kuiken on June 2, 2008; two sisters, Trina Bol and Gertrude Style; and three brothers, Louis, Peter, and Andrew Andela.
Surviving are two daughters, Jessica K. Van Essendelft and husband Nelson of Washington, and Margaret Hubers and husband Randy of Belhaven; one son, Bill Kuiken of West Sayville, NY; one sister, Jane A. Appelo of Bradenton, FL; two brothers, Walter Andela of West Winfield, NY and Richard Andela of Elkston, MD; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Covenant United Reformed Church by the Rev. Calvin J. Tuininga. Burial will follow at Yeatesville Cemetery. Friends may join the family Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the church, 24599 U.S. Hwy 264 E., Pantego.
Floral tributes are welcome and will be received at the church beginning at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, or contributions in her memory may be made to the Covenant URC Building Fund, P.O. Box 9, Pantego, NC 27860.
