Mr. Christopher Joe Spain, Jr., age 22, a resident of Washington, died Friday, September 30, 2011 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
A celebration of his life will be today, October 2, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, Washington, NC officiated by Pastor Phillip Jethro. Special music will be provided by Doug Cutler. Burial will follow at the Spain Family Cemetery, 201 Spain Drive, Washington. Dusty Broy, Nick Phelps, Edward Potter, Alex Spain, Dallas Spain, Jr., and Ethan Sparrow will serve as pallbearers.
Joey was born on February 2, 1989 in Beaufort County, son of Christopher Joe Spain, Sr. and Wendy Foreman Spain who survive. He attended Northside High School and Beaufort County Community College with hopes of becoming an engineer. Joey worked at Flanders Filters as a material handler. He had a tremendous love for hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents Joey is survived by his grandparents Ola and Henry Gibbs of Roper and Minnie Louise W. Spain of Washington and his girlfriend, Elizabeth “Beth” Sparrow.
His grandfather Elton Spain, Jr. preceded him in death.
