Mr. Willie Earl Sadberry of 2280 Highway 33 East, Chocowinity, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Beaufort County Medical Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Metropolitan AME Zion Church with Bishop Leroy Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Clay Bottom Church Cemetery.
Mr. Sadberry was born to the late Josephine Little and Daniel Aldridge of Beaufort County. He was a graduate of P.S. Jones High School and Essex County Community College of Newark, N.J. His careers included EMT Lenox Hill Hospital where he retired and an attendant at Leon Randolph Funeral Home. He was a member of Clay Bottom Missionary Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Edna C. Sadberry of the home; six daughters, Aletha Guinyard and Jacqueline Smalls, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., Towanda McNeal of Raeford, Roshawn Sadberry of Greenville, Towanda Tomczyk of Hartford, Conn., and Cheryl Bryant of Chocowinity; six sons, Reginald Little of Hopkins, S.C., Anthony and Darrell Hawze, both of Denver, Colo., Sean Crawford of Greenville, Kenneth Fredrick of Chocowinity and Jermaine Fredrick of Grimesland; three sisters, Verna Cogdell of Greenville, Pearlie Corbett of Blounts Creek and Janice Pollard of Washington; one brother, Lester Hooker of Blounts Creek, eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family received friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
