Mr. James Leslie “Jimmie” Gillikin, 81, of 5174 Dixon Road, Grimesland, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Oakdale Cemetery with pastor Phillip Boykin officiating.
Mr. Gillikin was born in Craven County on March 21, 1927. He was the son of the late Luther E. and Mary Elizabeth Parker Gillikin. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the DAV and American Legion.
Survivors include one sister, Lu Russell of Beaufort and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
