Royce Wade Hannah

Mr. Royce Wade Hannah, age 65, a resident of 1410 Slatestone Road, Washington, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at University Health Systems–Beaufort Hospital in Washington. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington. Services will be conducted by Tony Krantz. Doug Jefferson, Daniel Fulcher, Richard Sloan, Ray Lewis, Harvey Carraway and Larry Swanner will serve as pallbearers.

Royce Wade Hannah

Mr. Hannah was born in Pitt County on Sept. 16, 1946. He was the son of the late William Joseph Hannah and Patsy Adell Hannah. Mr. Hannah worked as a welder for over 25 years at Hackney. He was a member of the Washington Moose Lodge #1800 since 1987.

On March 14, 1970, Mr. Hannah married the former Brenda “Sue” Council, who survives. Surviving with his wife are a son, Johnny Hannah and wife Jamie of Chocowinity; a daughter, Jennifer Hannah of the home; two brothers, William Joseph Hannah Jr. and wife Mary; Billy Ray Hannah and wife Jane, all of Washington; and two grandchildren, Victoria Hannah and Emily Hannah.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of his brother, William Hannah, 1438 Slatestone Road, Washington.
