Gene Ellis Tetterton

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, Gene Ellis Tetterton of North Charleston. The relatives and friends of Gene E. Tetterton are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at Riverbluff Baptist Church. Friends may call from the hours of 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Burial and committal services to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. He was born on Dec. 31, 1942 in Pinetown, N.C., to the late Hassel Linwood Tetterton and Arkatie Blanche Boyd Tetterton. He was dedicated to his family and he loved hunting, golf, woodworking and watching and playing sports. He retired from the United States Air Force serving from 1961 until 1981. He is a veteran of both the Vietnam and Gulf Wars, he was an all star fast pitch softball player while serving in the Air Force. He is a member of Riverbluff Baptist Church and graduated from Bath High School in Bath, N.C., in 1961.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Piggott Tetterton: three daughters: Renee Bradford and husband Jason and children Emma and Emerson of Thompson’s Station, Tenn.; Michelle Riddle and Stephen and Joey of Goose Creek, S.C.; Cherie Rush and husband Jeff and children Katie, Garrett and Cody of Ladson, S.C.; sisters: Dean Tetterton Ambrose and JoAnn Tetterton Black, both of Washington, N.C.; one brotherin-law Rusty Piggott and his wife Shirley of Hanahan, S.C.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
