Elton Coffield is leading the Mount Olive Trojans in scoring this season.
The former Williamston High School standout is averaging 17.1 points per game for Mount Olive (8-3). He is also averaging 4.6 rebounds per game.
Coffield is hitting 49.2 percent of his two-point attempts, 44.8 percent of his three-point shots and 69.8 percent of his free throws. His 15 steals are second highest on the team.

Midgette grabs 10 rebounds
Sharkeysha Midgette pulled down 10 rebounds for UNC-Pembroke in Saturday’s 59-53 loss to Columbus State.
The former standout at Southside High School also scored four points. She added two steals and one assist.
Midgette is averaging 4.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. She’s started all 12 games for the Braves. Midgette is hitting 45.7 percent of her action shots and 55.6 percent of her free throws.
The Braves (3-9, 1-1 Peach Belt Conference) host USC-Aiken on Wednesday. (WDN)
Wilson seeing time with Lancers
Danny Wilson is playing about seven minutes per game for the Longwood Lancers.
The former Northside High School standout is averaging 1.1 points and 1.8 rebounds per game for the Lancers (6-12). He is hitting 33.3 percent of his action shots and 57.1 percent of his free throws.
Wilson had two points and four rebounds in Saturday’s 74-62 loss against Yale.
The Lancers play the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Wednesday. (WDN)
Johnson, Sasnett see action for Meredith
Hunter Johnson and Candice Sasnett saw action for Meredith College in Friday’s 85-67 loss to Dominican University.
Johnson, a former standout at Pungo Christian Academy, didn’t score in the game.
Sasnett, a former standout at Northside High School, had two points, three rebounds and two steals.
Meredith (0-8) plays host to Anges Scott College on Friday. (WDN)

House (Williamston High School) at Elizabeth City State University, Ronald Phelps (Plymouth High School) at North Carolina A&T University, Brant West (Plymouth High School) at Davidson College, Aaron Mobley (Washington High School) at Pitt Community College, Jacob Bowen (Plymouth High School) at Claflin, Dennis Butts (Washington High School) at Craven Community College, Alan Swain (Washington High School) at Craven Community College, Corey Rogerson (Washington High School) at Craven Community College and Travis Rogerson (Washington High School) at Craven Community College.
Meanwhile, Travis Midgette (Southside High School) is preparing for track at UNC-Wilmington.
