Mr. Mack Luther Peel Jr., 82, of 1433 McCaskey Road, Williamston, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Walker Funeral Home, Williamston with Joey Brickhouse officiating.
Mr. Peel was born in Martin County on March 30, 1926. He was the son of the late Mack Luther and Verna Roberson Peel. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a farmer, owner and operator of Peel Peanut Company and Mac Pac Pool Company and a former employee of Weyerhaeuser. He was married to Vivian Hoggard Peel, who survives. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Mack Peel III of Williamston; two daughters, Shelia Peel of Rockville, Md., and Trulah Emerson of Williamston; two stepsons, Michael Nicholson of Vanceboro and Kenneth Nicholson of Williamston; one stepdaughter, Carol Perry of Merry Hill; one grandchild; seven stepgrandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
