Jim Bispo made some excellent points in his letter to the editor on Thursday. Common sense would tell you that it is absurd for anyone to object to a photo ID being required for voting. But common sense seems to be almost extinct in some places today.

Apparently the Democratic Party will not support good, old Arthur, so he takes a page out of Walter Jones’ book and switches to the Republican Party. The difference is Jones was able to inherit his job.

Arthur has put me over the edge. I am switching, too.

What does it say when a politician changes party and refers to his friends in Raleigh?

Who wants to spend $600,000 on a bridge on a street that goes nowhere with no houses on it? I say close that street and spend the money on other things that the residents of Washington need.

I would really be surprised if the Big East would take East Carolina.

Speeding continues to be a problem on Stewart Parkway. Another wreck happened on Monday night. Our city needs to enforce the speed limit before an innocent victim is hurt.

Congratulations to Arthur Williams. There is hope for our country yet!
