Mr. John Roberson Sr., 72, of Grimesland, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Homestead Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Roberson was the son of the late James F. Roberson Sr. and Amanda Moore Roberson. He was an Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War and retiring after 20 years of service. He was married to Eloise Mimbs Roberson, who preceded him in death. He later married Emma Cross Roberson, who survives. He was a member of VFW Post 7032.
Survivors include two sons, John Roberson Jr. of Farmville and Dennis Roberson of Florida; two stepsons, James Boyd and Tim Boyd, both of Grimesland; one brother, James Roberson of Grimesland; one sister, Margie Mobley of Grimesland; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Jeanette Roberson, Martha Sutton, Mamie Cates and Mary Roberson and one stepson, Allen Boyd.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville.
