Ms. Eva Marie Wrighton, 83, of 16326 U.S. Highway 64 East, Roper, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shiloh Disciples of Christ Church, Roper, with Elder Daniel Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ms. Wrighton was born in Washington County on Aug. 23, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Horton and James Wrighton. She had been employed as a florist.
Survivors include seven sons, Frank Wrighton, Robert Wrighton, Jessie Wrighton, Henry Wrighton, Willie Wrighton and John Patrick, all of Roper, and Bobby Wrighton of Currituck; two daughters, Elsie Wrighton and Cora Wrighton, both of Roper; one sister, Ida Norman of Roper; 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home, Edenton.
