Pearl Pittman Mason, 87, of Oriental died Monday, February 2, 2009 at Craven Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of Oriental Free Will Baptist Church. She was known as the “Collard Cook” of Oriental.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Mason.
She is survived by one son, Charles Mason and wife, Marilyn of Minnesott Beach; one daughter, Ida M. Edwards and husband, Gordon of Chocowinity; three grandchildren, Jonathan Mason, Ann Marie Crisp and husband, Jesse, and Chris Edwards and wife, Stephanie; and two great-grandchildren, Andy Crisp and Brian Edwards.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Crisp and Rev. Ray Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Oriental Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial contributions be made to the Pamlico County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 302, Bayboro, NC 28515.
