Mrs. Nicy Marie Reddick, 79, of 522 Price Road, Chocowinity, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Temple of Jesus Christ, Washington, with Bishop Rodger Hooks officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.
Mrs. Reddick was born March 3, 1939, the daughter of the late Samuel Mayo Whichard Sr. and Mattie Clark Whichard. She was a graduate of Beaufort County High School in Pantego. She was married to Cleauther “Jo Nathan” Reddick, who survives. She was employed as an insurance agent prior to her retirement. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Washington, and later joined Warren Chapel F.W.B. Church in Chocowinity, where she served as a mother of the church.
Survivors include five daughters, Veronica Henderson, Phyllis Smith and Shelia Driver, all of Chocowinity, Gwendolyn Farrow of Raleigh and Peggy Turnage of Washington; two sons, Kenneth Reddick of Chocowinity and Jack Jones of Washington; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, Sharon Reddick, Jimmy Wilkinson and Shirley Crawford; seven sisters and six brothers.
The family will receive friends today from 6-7:30 p.m. at Warren Chapel F.W.B. Church, N.C. Highway 33 East, Chocowinity, and other times at the home.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
