Mrs. Millie Winifred Harrell Ricks, 86, of New Bern, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lakeside Chapel in Greenleaf Memorial Park with the Rev. Ray Whitby officiating.
Mrs. Ricks was born in Jones County, the daughter of the late Rosa Casper and Lewis Clayton Harrell. She lived most of her life in the New Bern area. She was married to John Sam Ricks, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, John Sam Ricks Jr. of Vanceboro; two daughters, Alice Ricks Register of Ayden and Betty Ricks Ormond of New Bern; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Indianna Wells Harrell.
The family will receive friends Friday following the funeral service.
