Mr. Wayne B. Davis, age 81 of Johnson City passed away on February 8, 2009 at the Christian Care Center in Johnson City. A native of Suitland, MD, he was the son of the late James Henry &Annie Reynolds Davis. Mr. Davis was a WWII &Korean War veteran in the US Marine Corps and a graduate of the University of Louisville, KY and Georgetown University. He worked for the US Government for 38 years, Coast &Geodetic, Census Bureau, and the National Bureau of Standards.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by four brothers, James Kenneth Davis, Chester Arthur Davis, Vernon Ira Davis, and Harry Edward Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife Pearl Frances Broyles Davis of Johnson City, Daughter Trudie Davis-Long &husband Ronald of Mt. Airy, MD, Son Wayne Beverly Davis, Jr. of Portland, OR, Grandchildren, Brian Long of Ogden, UT and Neale Long, Frederick, MD.
Services for Mr. Davis will be held at a later date.
