TREMONT, ILLINOIS — David A. Teeter, 53, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 3, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church, Washington with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Moore officiating. Visitation will be held immediately following the service.
Mr. Teeter was born in Batavia, N.Y., on Sept. 23, 1955. He was the son of Vernon and Ruth Teeter of Washington, who survive. He was married to Julie Teeter of Tremont, Ill., who survives. He graduated from Northern Nash High School in Nash County in 1974 and Wayne Community College in 1976. He had worked for CSX Railroad for 26 years and was currently serving as chief safety officer of T&P Railroad and Illinois Midland Railroad in Peoria, Ill.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine and Caroline Teeter of Newnan, Ga.; two brothers, Jon Teeter of Beaufort and Michael Teeter of Cumming, Ga.; and two stepchildren, Brady Stroot of Orlando, Fla., and Kylie Stroot of Winona, Minn.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Kimberly Teeter and his grandparents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Kimberly Teeter Scholarship Fund at Beaufort County Community College.
